Good cleaning practices
While you are moving, housekeeping will play an important part in safety and sanitation. Any items that have broken should be cleaned up entirely, especially hazards like broken glass or sharp pieces of wood.
Liquids that have spilled should be cleaned from the area and any goods it may have leaked on, as well as placing the remaining liquid in another intact container.
Use proper protective equipment such as gloves, towels, shovels, breathing masks, and safety glasses to clean potentially hazardous or dangerous materials.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum any area that has need of it. Wipe down surfaces and facilities for sanitation for yourself and anyone else who may use the location.
If you are using a rental moving truck, like U-haul or similar business, be sure to collect all your belongings and clean any mess you may have out of respect and to prevent loss of goods or money.
Ruined items should be thrown away immediately. Objects that cannot be removed immediately should be kept moved to another location or cordoned off as best as possible. When moving to a new location, try to clean anything that needs to be cleaned while moving in.
After moving away from a location, clean the location as best as you can out of respect, and clean whatever you are responsible for if the location is not your property.
