Making an inventory list is a very important step, when moving, the invnetory list can help you get an accurate moving quote from moving companies, help you estimate how many hours of labor is needed for your move, determine the size of storage facility needed for your load, if you intend to store your belingings.

It is very simple, you will need to start with the big items, such as furniture, appliances and then you will need to estimate a rough number of boxes, try to add diemensions to each one of your items, that will help you determine the space and the weight for each items, suppose your dresser is 4ft high, 2ft wide and 3ft long, you will need to multiple 4X2X3=24 Cubic feet, if you want to know the estimate weight for that you will need to multiple by 7, for an example: a 24 Cubic feet dresser will weigh about 168 lbs, does it make sense??

For items that are in inches, like a dresser that is 48" high, 24" Wide and 36" long, you will do 48X24X36/1728= 24 Cubic feet, nice ha?
