Moving a piano in most cases needed to be handled by professional piano movers, however you can do it yourself but there is some thing to know before that

Moving a spinet piano
If you have a spinet piano to be moved, that is going to be easy, since its light, therefore it can be moved with out a damage, but you need to make sure to pack it with card board and tape, in the rear and front of it, and have at least 2-3 movers load it onto the truck, it must be placed on the side of the truck and securely strapped and attached to the truck ,with strips.
Moving an upright piano
Upright piano is heavier than spinet piano, therefore it needs more packing supplie, such as designated piano cardboard, most professional movers carries this, blankets and tape.
First you must cover the piano with blankets, than you will need to secure the blankets to the piano with tape, and than you will need at least four people to load the piano onto the truck, two in the front and to in the back, after the piano is loaded, you will need to secure it to the side of the truck, with the designated cardboard which has slots that will help you secure the piano in manner that it will not move during transport.
Moving a baby grand piano
Moving a baby grand piano must be done by a proffesional moving company and handled properly, it is not recommended to move a baby grand piano by yourself.
